You have to see these…

Captain America: Brave New World
I know Captain America: Brave New World is the first Marvel movie of 2025. But I have to be honest my expectations were not super high. Even so, I was excited to see it. For the simple fact that this would be the first Captain America movie since Avengers End Game. Anthony Mackie’s official first feature film as Cap. I was more intrigued to see how or if they would connect this movie to Falcon and The Winter Soldier series.

One of Them Days
One of Them Days is the first movie I chose to see this year. And I’m glad I did cause this movie was just as good as I expected. They made a movie that is authentic and relatable. While not making a story that could be seen as condescending or demeaning. One of Them Days is super comical. But comical in a way that will have you almost in disbelief that all these crazy antics can happen in just one day.

Gladiator II
The wait is finally over. Gladiator II is finally out and we can finally have closure. Well depending on who you ask. If you ask me Gladiator 2 is your prototypical sequel. Some might even say it's a retelling of the initial story but that isn't for me to decide. I’m here to discuss the here and now. And what we have here is your standard revenge plot with a small dash of political intrigue. Not enough for my liking but I have to give them credit for creating a couple of good storylines.

Venom: The Last Dance
Venom: The Last Dance was okay, dare I say it was mid. Okay maybe it was bad. But one thing I can say for sure is that I left the theater very conflicted.

Joker: Folie à Deux
Joker 2 was one of my most anticipated movies of 2024. If you told me a year ago it was going to be a better musical than a movie. I would not have believed you.

Deadpool & Wolverine
After seeing Deadpool & Wolverine two times, I have a love-hate relationship with it. My initial reaction was that this movie was underwhelming. Not because it's a bad movie or anything. But due to the fact that I didn’t get what I wanted from the film. What that might be you might ask. Well, the answer to that question is quite simple.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is the perfect example of a movie that should've been box office. On paper when you look at who made it aka George Miller this movie should've been box office. This is the type of movie that could've broken records and deserved a better response. Looking on the surface this movie stars Anya Taylor-Joy & Chris Hemsworth. They are two of the most sought-after actors in the business right now. Sure Thor: Love & Thunder was mid but Anya low-key is in everything. So you'd think people would have been coming out in droves to see this movie? Then you combine those names with the out-of-this-world visuals. This movie's cinematography and action scenes were on point. This movie should have been a bonified hit and in this review, I'm going to express why.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is the start of a new generation of apes and humans. This movie takes place around 300 years after the events of War for the Planet of the Apes. Ceaser might be gone but expectations still run high for the start of a new trilogy. Now if you haven’t seen the most recent trilogy don't worry they do a good job catching you up to speed.

Challengers
Challengers is the freakiest movie of 2024. If I'm being honest this movie could go down as the freakiest sports movie of all time. Now I will say to start this review if you’ve seen the trailer you’ve basically seen the whole movie. Not because they put all the best parts in the trailer. More so because they kind of recycle the same patterns throughout the film.

Civil War
A24’s Civil War is the eeriest movie I’ve seen all year. A24 has another banger on their hands…literally. The cast was full of stars and soon-to-be stars so I had high expectations going into the film. What I didn’t expect was for this movie to really “boom” like it did. What I mean by that is the sound design for this film was epic. When I think about this movie I don’t immediately think of what I saw but what I heard. If you ask me, that says a lot about Alex Garland’s approach when directing this movie. They cultivated a feeling that in some way you can’t put into words, you have to experience it. it’s almost like the old saying goes “You just had to be there.”

Kung Fu Panda 4
Kung Fu Panda 4 the movie we never needed is out. So let’s talk about it. After an 8-year hiatus, Jack Black is back with more from the dragon warrior. Or so we thought. In true Kung Fu Panda fashion this movie is action-packed. The colors were epic as usual and of course its full of jokes for the kids. So where do things go wrong?

Dune: Part Two
Dune Part: 2 was my most anticipated movie of the year and did not disappoint. It’s the best movie I have seen this year by far. I dare say it was almost perfect. Okay, maybe not perfect, but it was crazy good, to say the least. My favorite aspect of the movie was the world-building and deep lore segments. The first movie left me with so many questions. But this sequel genuinely feels like they answered many of them. Don’t get me wrong, I still have plenty more. Yet I feel satisfied as a viewer for the new information we got. But mainly, I’m excited to learn more.

The Book Of Clarence
The Book of Clarence was one of the first movies I wanted to go see this year. After watching the trailer I was sold. The cast, the director, the subject matter, and the premise enticed me from the jump. One thing that stood out to me immediately was how the movie started. It took away all the preconceived notions you could have going into the film. Then made you sit with that image sinking in your mind for the duration of the film. Jeymes Samuel is known for his creative storytelling. The Book of Clarence is no different.

The Creator
The Creator is a movie set in the future during a war between humans and artificial intelligence. We follow Joshua an ex-undercover operative and Alphie the first simulant child. Simulantes are basically sentient AI robots built to elevate human lives.

TMNT Mutant Mayhem
The TMNT Mutant Mayhem movie is one of the purest takes on the four brothers in the past fifteen years. I enjoyed this take on a younger and light-hearted version of the Turtles. One thing that stuck out immediately was the music choice for this movie. This movie felt very “New York” in the best ways.

Fast X
This movie is supposed to be the pinnacle of the Fast & Furious franchise with it being the tenth movie and they did not disappoint. The main question I had going into this movie was how much will this movie be anything different from the previous nine. They drove in space in the last one so what could they possibly have left in the tank?

The Flash
Unfortunately, The Flash is a good movie that was doomed to fail from the start because of the “they who shall not be named” actions off of the big screen.

Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse
This movie was my most anticipated movie of the year so I had super high expectations going into theaters. The only thing I was worried about was with this being a sequel but also being a part one type of experience will it water down the novelty of it being a sequel while watching the film? They did not disappoint because Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is peak fiction.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3
This is the most serious-toned movie out of the three Guardians movies 100%. It’s full of not only emotions but also laughs.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie
This movie was nostalgia overload in all the best ways and was able to bring the Mario universe to life on screen. What made this movie even more impressive was how they were able to seamlessly fit almost 40 years of lore into an hour-and-a-half movie.
