Avatar: The Way of Water
If I could only use one word to describe this movie it would be “Beautiful”. From the world to the story to the characters. The initial opening was moving because we saw that there was a rise and fall opening us up to new experiences. The change in environment felt refreshing and allowed us to experience more variables that made this world feel alive.
This movie had elite action scenes coupled with heart-felled family moments and two tales of fatherhood. This was an easy win because the kids in this movie were amazing and they were the real stars of this film.
Now this movie was long for sure but I didn’t care because the world they expanded was amazing and I didn’t want to miss any of it. I do wish that there was more to the plot from a motivation standpoint other than revenge because it seems short side but it works in isolation.
It took around 13 years for this movie to come out and it was worth the wait. The stakes in this movie were high and even the loss was impactful but not overpowering which I appreciate. They made me care and the amount of lore we got in the movie has me super excited for the future.
Hopefully, it doesn’t take as long as the sequel did to come out but overall I love this movie and I’m gonna have to go see it again cause this movie goes crazy.
